The town is located near the border with Belorussia and Poland, 130 km to the South from the capital of Lithuania – Vilnius. It is situated on the of the Nemunas river. Architectural and natural environment of Druskininkai is formed by a big number of spas, squares, parks, small lakes and valleys. Healing properties of Druskininkai mineral water were noticed in early 18 th century, while in 1794 the decree of Stanislav August Poniatovsky proclaimed Druskininkai a health resort. Grutas Park You can also visit Grutas Park, which is not so far from Druskininkai.
